Wow, I haven’t written in this blog in almost a month. I guess my hair routine and any experimenting with it has been quite uneventful. I haven’t bought anything new lately, just trying out some stuff I’ve gotten over the past few months and trying to finish up older stuff.
Tonight, I finally finished my Garnier Curl Construct mousse. I’ve had it since last September! It takes me a long time to go through styling products because I use a few in rotation, and some of my bottles of styling product are pretty big!
I retrieved this from the recycle bin because I figured I should take a photo of it for my blog. So important!
Now that I’ve taken pictures of the can, after I finish the product, I just realized that it contains amodimethicone. At the time I bought it, I didn’t care, but I’ve not been purchasing any new products that contain silicones, unless they are water soluble. At least it’s pretty low on the list…I guess.
Next, I will finally crack open my Herbal Essences Totally Twisted mousse*! I got this last September as well, just a week or so after the Garnier mousse (after I opened it and couldn’t return it, of course), for free from Influenster. Sadly, I never opened it since I only like to have one of each kind of styling product open at a time (i.e. one mousse, one gel, etc.) I’m very sure I was supposed to review it on their website but never did. Oh well, I should be able to review it on this blog after a while.
You’ll notice that the Herbal Essences mousse has a lot fewer ingredients than the Garnier mousse, and no silicones! Can’t wait to use it 🙂
Bonus picture of what my hair looks like tonight, while wearing my new Ottoto Castellano glasses from glassesusa.com…and some glamorous old, oversized Kmart pajamas with cats on them:
Pre-Wash Treatment: All I Need Naturally Baobab Growth Oil Cocktail*, applied all over the hair except for the roots and the straight, thin bottom layer. (My hair was so dry today, probably from the DevaCurl Delight low-poo and conditioner I used a few days ago. Will air my grievances on that in a future blog post.)
Shampoo: Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Shampoo*
Conditioner: Live Clean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Conditioner*
Oil: All I Need Naturally Baobab Growth Oil Cocktail* along my hairline, concentrating on the edges
Moisturizer: All I Need Naturally Curl Refresher Cream* (Tried using this in place of a styling product, but it did not work for that purpose. In fact, with this conditioner, I normally don’t even need a leave-in or any kind of post-wash moisturizer.)
Styler: Garnier Curl Construct Mousse
*Asterisks indicate products I received for free to review. Live Clean and Herbal Essences products were from Influenster, and All I Need Naturally products from Naturally Curly’s Trendsetter community.
